Cocoa, but not the after-school kind. Andy Tauer, a Swiss perfumer who makes everything by hand, built Heraud around a double-distilled cocoa absolute, a rare material that isn't available every year.
It starts on Bourbon bergamot and bitter cocoa. The heart turns fruity and milky, with dried dates and a white floral nuance. The base gives it structure: dry woods, cedarwood, vanilla, powdery musk and ambergris.
It's an elixir, in 50 ml, in limited quantities. For you if you like chocolatey gourmands that stay woody and not too sweet.
