An oud that doesn't pretend to be well-behaved? Black Oud, from LM Parfums, Laurent Mazzone's Paris house, owns its mysterious and frankly animal side.
It starts spicy with nutmeg, cumin and frankincense. The heart sets oud on resinous labdanum. The base is rich: sandalwood, cedar, vanilla and amber, with castoreum and civet for the wild side.
