Plum, the velvet edition: 401 opens the vanilla family at Bon Parfumeur, a Paris house that files its creations by number.
The opening pairs cypress, elemi and bergamot, on the fresh side. The heart darkens with plum, cinnamon leaf and incense. At the base, labdanum, vanilla and cedar make a warm, woody finish.
It comes as an eau de parfum, in a 30 ml bottle to get acquainted or a 100 ml one if you're already sold. Ideal for autumn, chunky jumpers and cosy evenings, if you like candied fruit that isn't too sweet.
